In this journal we investigate working with communities. Working with communities can be one of the most rewarding experiences for an interpreter. For it is within communities that we have all the raw ingredients for a remarkable story, and the development of that story can often be a magical voyage of discovery for both the interpreter as well as the community involved. However, working in this way is not without its challenges with interpreters having to introduce additional skills in engagement and advocacy.
