Put the conference dates and venue in your diary!

We’ve now confirmed that the 2012 Conference will take place at Hawkstone Park, near Shrewsbury, in beautiful Shropshire, on the 17th - 19th October.

The conference, 'Interpretation at the heart of the visitor experience', will explore how we can ensure high quality interpretation remains at the heart of the modern visitor experience. We’ll have a great range of speakers and site visits looking at different uses of interpretative media in creating experiences, how digital media and working with communities has changed (and improved?) the interpretative experience and learning about new evaluation techniques to find out if we’re successful . The programme is still being finalised, but will include a visit to the award winning Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and feature high profile speakers from the Interpretation industry. Hawkstone Park is set amidst 400 acres of gorgeous scenery with the unique 18th century Follies – a fantasyland of cliffs, crags, caves, deep woods and extraordinary monuments built more than 200 years ago.
