Teach tourism in Australia

Flinders University is advertising for a lecturer to contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Tourism. The appointee will have experience in a relevant discipline, and be able to teach broadly in key areas relevant to programmes of study at the University.

Salary is Aus$ 69,118 to Aus$ 82,075 per annum.

The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with other staff members in Tourism, and will be expected to:
  • contribute to the undergraduate programs in the Bachelor of International Tourism and postgraduate coursework programs in Tourism, including teaching some components of the above programs, in such areas as international principles and practice of sustainable tourism, tourism research and methodology and international tourism product development, management and marketing;
  • liaise with academic and general staff in delivering efficient and effective administration;
  • undertake research relevant to tourism or the pedagogy of tourism teaching;
  • undertake other duties as prescribed by the Head of the School of Humanities at Flinders University;
  • assist the Tourism program in its liaison work with students;
  • promote and provide a safe working environment for students, staff and visitors with attention to the requirements of the Occupational Health Safety and Welfare Act, the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act and Equal Opportunity legislation.
