AHI Conference 2010: Exploring new strategies for effective communication

Bournemouth, Dorset

13 October 2010 to 15 October 2010

There’s still time to join us beside the seaside

The countdown to this year’s AHI Conference has begun and we’re really looking forward to welcoming those of you who have already signed up. If you haven’t booked yet, there’s still time to snap up the last few places at this unmissable interpretation event.

Come and join us on the beautiful Dorset coast from the 13th October, when we’ll be exploring new techniques and technologies for effective communication and how they impact on our work in interpretation. We’ve lined up engaging speakers and fascinating site visits, interpretive inspiration, lively discussion and networking. We’re also throwing in comfortable accommodation, great food, golden sandy beaches, the famous pier, a swimming pool and a sauna. What more could you possibly want?

Now’s the time to think about how you’re going to get to Bournemouth and what to bring. We’ve prepared some joining instructions for you, which include information about getting to The Queens Hotel, registering for the conference, your accommodation and catering. These will be emailed to all delegates but you can also download them.

Please do remember that our site visits include being out and about in the stunning Dorset countryside and feature guided walks and outdoor exploration. We’ve ordered clear skies and sunshine but can’t guarantee it, so please make sure you bring warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear. And don’t forget the Conference Dinner on Thursday evening – the highlight this year will be a freestyle band of local artists and musicians who will be singing and playing after dinner. We hope you’ll join in so bring a song, story or instrument!

Annual General Meeting

Our AGM will be held on the morning of Friday, 15 October: we aim to make it as quick and efficient as possible. Relevant papers for the meeting, all downloadable as pdfs, are the agenda, the minutes of the 2009 AGM, and the Association's 2009-2010 Annual Report and Accounts.
